Between his handpicked candidates faring poorly in their elections and the sparsely-attended rallies this past weekend, Donald Trump is quickly being exposed as a fraud. It turns out that people aren't actually as interested in the former President as both he and the Republican Party like to pretend, and reality is beginning to set in pretty hard. Farron Cousins explains what's happening and what it could mean for the midterms.

Donald Trump's having a rough go of it. Folks. In fact, the last couple weeks have really not been good for Donald Trump. After all, we saw his handpicked candidate up there in Pennsylvania, have to withdraw from that Senate race for, you know, all of those horrifying accusations against him. That was, uh, Parnell. And then of course, you've got Mo Brooks and Alabama who is appearing to be losing his Republican primary to keep hold of his seat to a young up and comer in the Republican party. Trump is endorsed Brooks, and now he's losing, you have other Trump endorsed candidates that haven't fared so well this year, all of the challengers that he's trying to put in place against these Republican incumbents who voted to impeach him, they're not doing well at all. And then of course you have this past weekend's rallys with bill O freak and Riley, right.

Two right wing superstars. And they have to block off parts of the arenas so that they don't look out there and just see empty seats for both of these events they had in Florida this past weekend, one in sunrise, one in Orlando, nobody wanted to go, nobody cared what the former president of the United States had to say. And of course, let's not forget the fact that we have on record Donald Trump, reaching out to members of Congress, Republican members of Congress, warning them, threatening them. Don't you dare vote for that infrastructure bill. And they said, I am thank you for your call though, but I'm still gonna do it out to mention his threats against Mitch McConnell, do not do anything, do not work with Democrats on the debt ceiling. And they're actually working with the Democrats to raise the debt ceiling. So things aren't going well for Donald Trump, but there's two distinct issues here.

One we have with the public itself, right? And we see the, that with not only the candidates, he is endorsing, but also with this little tour he's on with bill O'Reilly, nobody cares what Trump has to say. They don't care if the person he picked is a loyal Trumpist Trumpist, they're going with the other individual. They don't care that he's going out there and speaking to them person during this little tour, they're not showing up. This shows us that with regard to the public itself, Donald Trump's popularity and his influence appears to be waning. Now we say appears to be waning because yes, we have several examples that show that. Yeah, clearly not as strong as the guy thinks he is with the public. Now, probably a little too soon to go ahead and issue the diagnosis saying that yes, 100% his popularity is falling off a cliff, but I do think there's something to it.

And I think that's something we need to keep an eye on. As for the other issue. That's Congress, Donald Trump, as I said repeatedly over the last couple weeks and months has been warning Republicans. Don't do this. Then Republicans turn around and say, Hey, thanks for the advice. We're gonna do it anyway. And that's happened on at least two separate occasions with the debt ceiling and infrastructure vote. So Trump has no real influence over the public. They don't care what he has to say. They're not showing up to hear him talk and they're not voting for the candidates he's endorsing and Congress. Isn't listening to him now, to me, I think that's a real moment that shows us that people a on the Republican side are finally starting to wake up and understand that this guy doesn't have any actual power. This guy doesn't have anything worthwhile to say all he is doing every time he goes out there and does speak is playing the greatest hits either. He's making fun of somebody. He doesn't like, like when he called Mitch McConnell, the old Crow or he's and moaning about losing that election, that now was over a year ago. He's whining about fraud that we know doesn't exist. E E even though the Republicans, 70% of 'em think it exists. Donald Trump's "Influence" Over Politics Is Being Exposed As A Farce
